NEWSLETTER October 2, 2020

Dear all,

We are very happy to announce that our garage sale was a success, and that it allowed
to raise $ 5,345.00! We have experienced an incredible surge of generosity, sharing and awareness. All of this was accomplished in the middle of public health measures respected by all. Thank you.

For those who were unable to make it to Terrebonne, thank you for sending us your donations.

Thank you to the Foundation’s Board of Directors, who did a remarkable job to make this event a success. Let’s not forget our many volunteers who have joined the Alaya team with all their heart and cheerfulness. Without this human wealth, nothing could have happened. Attention and dedication to others were the reason for this accomplishment.

I would also like to underline the too sudden departure of one of our donors, Mrs. Aline Laporte, who was interested in each of our missions and participated in our events. Thanks to Solange Ouimet, Director of Alaya, for sharing our actions with her.

As mentioned in our previous Newsletter, our second mission is to support indigenous communities during and after this pandemic. We sadly decided to cancel our gathering on October 17 in Kanatha-Aki in order to respect the public health instructions, and out of respect for all.

A new invitation will be sent to you for National Indigenous Peoples Day, during Spring season 2021.

Like all of you, we were absolutely troubled and affected by the tragic event that occurred in the Attikamekw community of Manawan. It is therefore towards this community that we will organize our efforts ; we will work in collaboration with the community to make sure the appropriate needs are being met.

Lebanon, our third mission, will also receive our full attention.

Our website will allow you to follow our missions, which are only possible thanks to your donations.

Keep taking care of yourselves, it is the only way to make the world a better place.
